MediaTek has big things planned for its Helio P10 SoC as it will apparently power 100 smartphones that will be released during 2016. The Helio P10 is a true octa-core CPU based on a 28nm manufacturing process.
It will have eight ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked in at 2GHz as well as a Mali-T860 MP2 GPU and support for upto 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It also supports 4G with CAT 6 LTE speeds.
The chipset has been shipping since Q4 2015 and as a result, we might see some phones among the 100 in the first quarter of 2016 itself. Out of the 100 smartphones, there will be 50 different brands and most of the smartphones will have good value for money. But apparently Mediatek has managed to rope in a few big brands as well and we are guessing that HTC is one of them.
