Ahead of the launch of 4G services by Reliance Industries under its Jio brand, union Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said this technology will prove to be a game-changer in India.
“I approved the proposal of 4G. You will have 4G from Reliance Jio, Airtel, Idea – I want there should be competition,” Prasad said in an interview to ETV. “Let the best one rule in terms of consumer satisfaction,” he said.
“4G technology promises customers a vastly improved online experience with faster web browsing, downloads and video-on-demand, besides being facilitator for a variety of social services, online healthcare, education and governance.”
“Digital India, Make in India, Stand-up India, Startup India initiatives will help in the country’s progress. Digital India will strengthen India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ideas are for the future of India,” he added.
Modi will launch the ‘Startup India’ movement on January 16.
As many as 1,500 startup founders from across the country will attend the event aimed at celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of India’s youth.
As indicated by Modi in his radio programme ‘Mann ki baat’, the event will unveil the full action plan for the ‘Startup India’ movement, highlighting the schemes and initiatives the government will take to address various aspects needed to develop a conducive startup ecosystem in India.
