AdDuplex have released their monthly report on the market share of various Windows Phone devices on their cross-promotional app network as recorded on the 22nd July 2015.
When it comes to the worldwide view, there seems to be very little movement, with very few newer generation devices making an impact. The Nokia Lumia 520 still rules the roost, and we have recently heard up to 25 million of these handsets have been sold in total, explaining its clear dominance.
In some markets however we have seen some of Microsoft’s new better value handsets (in terms of features for the price) start making their presence felt. In USA the Lumia 640 entered the top 10 in 4th place, displacing the Lumia 520. As a rough estimate this means there should be more than 300,000 of those devices in use there at the minute.
The handset is also popular on the other side of the world, in Russia, where it debuted in 7th position with 3.4% share.
In India the Lumia 640 XL has also arrived in the top 10, at 3% share. The Lumia 640 XL is only slightly more expensive than the Lumia 640 but offers a lot more in terms of battery life, camera quality and screen size, and we are somewhat surprised its not zooming up the charts everywhere.
