Aircel announced a new first-of-its-kind Free Basic Internet offer for its customers last month. Today it launched it in Jammu & Kashmir. All new prepaid customers in J&K can now browse and actively use their favorite applications such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter at Rs. 144, which offers unlimited data with a speed of 64Kbps and 90 days validity. The offer is aimed at fuelling mobile internet adoption in J&K, keeping in view that a considerable population of mobile phone users is still offline, said the company.
Commenting on the new offer, Anil Gupta, Regional Business Head – North, Aircel, said:We firmly believe that internet is for all and through our constant efforts of innovating products and services, we aim to make Aircel a gateway to the internet for many. Free Basic Internet was created with that thought and is in line with our promise of ‘doing a little extra’ for our subscribers. We’re confident that it will not only greatly ease the pockets of our new customers, but also help us fuel internet adoption in the state for those who still aren’t online. It is a known fact that with each passing day, the need of our customers to have access to seamless data connectivity on their mobile phones is increasing manifold. This is clearly a reflection of our vision to empower all our customers with easily accessible and affordable internet.
