Coolpad to launch smartphones exclusively on Snapdeal

China-based Coolpad Group Ltd. has entered into an exclusive partnership with e-commerce marketplace major Snapdeal, where the company’s smartphones will be sold to consumers.
Coolpad Group globally is a holder of more than 6000 patents including dual sim, dual standby amongst others. It manufactures more than 60 million handsets every year.

In a statement issued Wednesday, Varun Sharma, India CEO, Coolpad Dazen, said, “The Indian smartphone consumer today is consistently pushing the envelope on value proposition. With Coolpad Dazen, we want to lead the next wave of disruption in the Indian smartphone market, with high quality devices, game-changing specs and innovation designed specially for our Indian customers.”

A leader in 4G/ LTE segment, Coolpad Dazen is one of the world’s fastest growing smartphone players and also the fastest growing online brand in China.

“The brand is renowned for high quality products and has been first-to-market with many innovations including curved screen phone, dual rear camera and unibody inside phone. We are positive that we will see a tremendous response from our wide user base towards this launch,” Tony Navin, Senior Vice President – Electronics and Home, Snapdeal, said in the statement.

Coolpad Group provides its products and services to enterprises, government organisations and mobile operators as well as individual consumers in China.
Recently, Chinese internet firm Qihoo 360 Technology Co Ltd has invested $409 million in Coolpad Group Ltd.

Their JV will leverage Coolpad’s extensive expertise in smartphone design, manufacturing, supply chain management, and aftermarket services, while benefiting from Qihoo 360’s strong capabilities in Internet security software, mobile apps development and online marketing.
