JioHotstar launched : All you need to know

With the merger of Viacom18 and Star India, announced the launch of JioHotstar which combines JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar.  This has nearly 300,000 hours of content and a user base exceeding 500 million.

JioHotstar has also launched ‘Sparks’, a flagship initiative spotlighting India’s biggest digital creator through innovative and engaging formats.JioHotstar continues to offer Mobile, Super and Premium plans, and there are also 3-month plans, and the premium plan is also available monthly.

JioHotstar will offer a broad content library, including exclusive rights to:

 

  • Hollywood studios like Disney, NBCUniversal Peacock, Warner Bros. Discovery HBO, and Paramount.
  • Indian originals, TV programming, and reality content across 10 languages.
  • Extensive live sports coverage, including IPL, ICC events, WPL, Premier League, and Wimbledon.
JioHotStar Subscription Plans

 

  • Rs. 149 / 3 months and Rs. 499 / year (Ad-Supported) Mobile plan lets you stream in HD (720p) on 1 mobile device
  • Rs. 299 / 3 months and Rs. 899 / year (Ad-Supported plan) Super plan lets you stream in FHD (1080p) on two devices (mobile / desktop / TV)
  • Rs. 299 / month (Can only be purchased via web browser), Rs. 499 / 3 months and Rs. 1499 / year (Ad-free except for Live content such as sports and other Live shows) Premium plan lets you stream in 4K on four devices (mobile / desktop / TV)

What happens to existing JioCinema subscribers?
The existing JioCinema subscribers will get an additional JioHotstar Premium subscription for the same period as their JioCinema subscription. JioCinema subscriptions will not be renewed from today, February 15th. On the expiry of the current subscription, these users can choose JioHotstar plans.

If you have both JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar subscriptions, you will get JioHotstar Premium for the same duration as your JioCinema subscription. After your JioCinema subscription expires, your Disney+ Hotstar subscription will continue as usual.
