As sources claims that the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL launch event is scheduled to take place on October 19 in New York.The tip claims not only two flagship Lumias, but Surface Pro 4 Tablet and even a new Microsoft Band may get unveiled during the event. So, now we can confirm via our sources that Microsoft is planning to launch both Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL during a big launch event in the month of October. The launch event will be held in New York city and there may be some cool new accessories for these devices too. Some new accessories meant for “continuum for phones“, New Treasure Tag and some headsets may also be announced. This news has been broken first by Chinese site WPDang and we were able to confirm it.
Microsoft Lumia 940 XL is expected to feature a 5.7-inch display with a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution. The Snapdragon 810 SoC is under the hood, with an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 430 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside, with 32GB of expandable storage. A 20MP PureView camera will be on the back with a 5MP front-facing camera handling selfies. An iris scanner is on board, along with a USB Type-C port, and a native pen.
The Microsoft Lumia 940 features specs that are close to being the same as those on the Lumia 940 XL, but with a smaller 5.2-inch screen, and the Snapdragon 808 SoC driving the device. The latter offers a hexa-core CPU and the Adreno 418 GPU.
Talking about pricing for India, expect Lumia 940 to be priced around or slightly higher than 48000 INR and Lumia 940 XL around or slightly higher than 54000 INR in India.
