Micromax Canvas play features a  5.5-inch (480×854 pixels) FWVGA display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8 GB of inbuilt storage out of which 4.40GB is available for user further which can be expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD card.

The Dual SIM device runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 out-of-the-box.It sports a 5-megapixel Autofocus rear camera with  LED flash and a 0.3MP Front camera front-facing camera.
