Micromax Knight 2, the compnay’s first 4G smartphone, will hit the stores from June 10 priced at 16,299.Micromax is preparing an affordable device system and as part of the plan the company’s upcoming versions of flagships such as Canvas Fire, Unite and Nitro will support 4G. The development comes ahead of the launch of Reliance Jio Infocomm’s 4G rollout and as Bharti Airtel is expanding its services in the 4G arena.

“We have a clear visibility on the network rollouts and we feel that consumers would want affordable as well as high-end devices enabled with 4G,” Micromax CEO Vineet Taneja told ET. “There is a lot of pull from operators and some partnerships will happen when networks are ready.”
Taneja added that talks were on with Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio for partnerships but did not reveal the nature of tie-ups.
