Microsoft Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL to launch on October 10th

Microsoft Lumia 940 XL is expected to feature a 5.7-inch display with a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution. The Snapdragon 810 SoC is under the hood, with an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 430 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside, with 32GB of expandable storage. A 20MP PureView camera will be on the back with a 5MP front-facing camera handling selfies. An iris scanner is on board, along with a USB Type-C port, and a native pen.

The Microsoft Lumia 940 features specs that are close to being the same as those on the Lumia 940 XL, but with a smaller 5.2-inch screen, and the Snapdragon 808 SoC driving the device. The latter offers a hexa-core CPU and the Adreno 418 GPU.

These devices running Windows 10 Mobile will ship soon after the announcement and by end of October may be available to order in some markets. Pricing wise, our sources expect a premium pricing, but nothing astronomical. Expect a pricing of around or slightly higher than $649 for Lumia 940 XL and around or slightly higher than $600 for Lumia 940.


Talking about pricing for India, expect Lumia 940 to be priced around or slightly higher than 48000 INR and Lumia 940 XL around or slightly higher than 54000 INR in India.
