Moto G04 Review

Moto has launched the Moto G04 entry-level budget smartphone in India priced under Rs 7000. It offers Punch Hole Display, Side fingerprint Scanner, and Android 14. Here’s our review of the Moto G04 smartphone.

Moto G04 has a matte finish design that doesn’t get smudged easily and gives a good grip in hand. On the front, it has a centered punch-hole Display. On the right, a Volume and Power button acts as a fingerprint Scanner. The top features a 3.5mm headphone jack. SIM  Card slot on the left.  USB Type-C port, Single speaker, Noise cancellation microphone on the bottom.  On the rear, it has a Single 16MP Camera with LED Flash, Moto Logo.  The Phone measures 163.49 x 74.53 x 7.99mm and Weight: 178.8g. It comes with Water repellent design IP52 rating.

 

Moto G04 features a 6.6-inch (1612 x 720 Pixels) HD+ 20:9 aspect ratio IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It comes with a  Panda glass protection. The Display produces good colors and viewing angles. Outdoor brightness is decent. The touch response is smooth.

Moto G04 is powered by a 1.6GHz Octa Core Unisoc T606 (6x Cortex-A55 and 2x Cortex-A75 cores) 12nm processor with Mali G57 MP1 GPU. It comes with
4GB / 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB / 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, further expandable up to 1TB with microSD. We used a 4GB RAM Variant. Gaming performance is decent, No major heating issue. For social media use, calling and daily task performance is good.

Moto G04 has a 16MP AI primary camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Both Cameras can record 1080p Videos. Camera features include portrait mode, night mode, time-lapse, QR Code, and FHD Video recording.  The Rear camera captures good images in daylight and Lowlight conditions, The Front camera and video recording is decent.

 

 

Moto G04 runs on Android 14 out of the box,  closer-to-stock Android experience with similar app icons and themes. It comes with a few third-party apps pre-installed, which can be removed. Moto G04 comes with Moto gestures, including Chop twice for a flashlight, double-pressing the power button to launch the camera app, a three-finger screenshot, and more. RAM Boost feature.  Overall user interface is good.  Connectivity options include Dual 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C. The Side-mounted fingerprint Scanner works fast. Call quality, Speaker output is loud and clear.

Moto G04 is Packed with a a 5,000mAh battery which can deliver one day of battery life with Normal use. In our battery test, we got around 8 Hours of battery life use including Gaming, watching videos, and Instagram. The Phone takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes to charge fully with a 10W charger in the box. The device supports 15w Charging. 15W Charging doesn’t make much difference.

Moto G04 is priced at Rs. 6,999 for 4GB RAM and Rs 7999 for 8GB + 128GB. It offers Android 14, Good performance, Battery Life, an IP52 Rating, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
