Philips has announced a world first in its AmbiLux TV projection system. This uses nine pico projectors to bring the wall behind the television to life.
AmbiLux TV sports a 65-inch display that utilises the built-in Ambilight projection system, which as the name suggests, lets you project on-screen images, motion, and colour to the rear wall. It does so by using the nine pico projectors integrated on the TV.
As for the specifications, the Philips AmbiLux TV with model number 65PUS8901 comes with a 4K Ultra HD LCD (3840×2160 pixels) display panel that offers 400nit brightness. The TV features 30W DTS speakers, and runs Android TV (v5.1), the device comes with several Google apps, Netflix, Spotify Connect, and other apps pre-installed on it. It offers 16GB internal storage, with four HDMI 2.0 ports, three USB 3.0 ports and other standard connectivity features. It also features a remote control with a Qwerty keyboard, swipe pad, and speech recognition.
The immersive experience isn’t limited to visual delight. The company says that the lights will match the dynamics of the music that is playing on the television. But how? By changing the colours. The company says that the halo of light “react to the dynamics of any music played through the TV.”
