Reliance Jio ‘Free Welcome Offer’ extension could be announced on December 28

Reliance Jio has rollout is Free 4G services in India . Reliance is expected to extend its services till march 2017 now  according to new report by Business Insider, the company will be extending its Welcome offer beyond the deadline.

In fact, the report claims that the operator will be making this announcement on December 28th, which marks the birthday of Reliance group’s founder Dhirubhai Ambani. Since the company opened its telecom network to its employees on the same day last year, the report does seem believable. offer will be extended by another three months, i.e. till March 2017, which concurs with previous rumours. The extended offer will benefit both the existing and new users. There’s little doubt that its aggressive strategy has helped Reliance Jio to rank among the fastest-growing telecom operators in the world. However, incumbent telcos raised a lot of hue and cry over its user acquisition strategy, and requested TRAI to enforce its maximum 90-day rule for any promotion.

Reliance Jio has blamed the telecom operators for calls failing on Jio’s network, Jio has been in a major spat with telecom operators over the issue of ‘points of interconnection’ that essentially connects calls from one network to the other. Jio has complained about Airtel, Vodafone, Idea not complying with their licence agreement by not providing enough PoIs to Jio which is causing the huge amount of call failures on Jio network. As for the data speed it has seen a massive dip since the time of the commercial launch as the network has been loaded with a huge amount of subscribers hoping to use free services.

 Jio Welcome Offer will be available to NEW Subscribers for Subscription till 3rd December 2016 as per TRAI order. Reliance is also expected to launch feature phone with VoLTE support under Rs 1500.
