Reliance Jio today announced that it will offer free unlimited WiFi service, Jionet, at Feroz Shah Kotla ground in Delhi, and all other venues for T20 Wold Cup matches.
Jionet network, which comprises over 650 access points, and is supported by 100 Gbps backhaul to ensure around 15 Mbps speed for over 40,000 spectators during the matches.In addition to that, Reliance Jio has deployed 37 small cells at the venue. “We have also deployed different antennas within the Kotla premises for better indoor coverage,” an official said.
Besides Feroz Shah Kotla ground, Reliance Jio has also deployed it WiFi network at five other T20 World Cup venues, including Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, Mumbai’s Wankhede and stadiums in Mohali, Dharmashala, and Bengaluru.
The official said that Jio has deployed around 600 access points each in these stadiums, adding that Eden Garden stadium will have more than 600 access points due to its capacity.
