Samsung announced the lightest and thinnest tablets, launch in next month

Samsung has officially introduced the lightest and thinnest tablets it has ever produced. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 each measure 5.6mm thin and weigh 265g and 389g respectively. Both models also come with a touch-enabled fingerprint scanner built into the home buttons. Multitasking allows the user to run two apps at one time and Pop-Up Windows gives Galaxy Tab 2 users the ability to quickly navigate between multiple apps.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 features an 8-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1536 x 2048 resolution, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is equipped with a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with the same 1536 x 2048 resolution. Both models will be powered by an octa-core CPU with four cores running at 1.9GHz and four cores running at 1.3GHz. Both tablets have 3GB of RAM inside along with 32GB/64GB of internal storage. Those requiring more memory can access the 128GB capacity microSD slot.

Both tablets also come with an 8MP rear-facing camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera and Android 5.0 pre-installed. A 4000mAh cell is inside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 while a 5870mAh cell is employed on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7.

Each model is available with Wi-Fi only, or with Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 will launch next month, and pricing will be disclosed as we get closer to the actual release date.
