Samsung to sell refurbished Galaxy Note 7 Phones

Back in October Samsung Electronics announced that they will permanently discontinue production and sales of its embattled Galaxy Note 7smartphone Now to sell refurbished Galaxy Note 7. Samsung has established three principles to ensure that Galaxy Note 7 devices are recycled and processed in an environmentally-friendly manner.

First, devices shall be considered to be used as refurbished phones or rental phones where applicable.
Second, salvageable components shall be detached for reuse. Third, processes such as metals extraction shall be performed using environmentally friendly methods.


Regarding the Galaxy Note 7 devices as refurbished phones or rental phones, applicability is dependent upon consultations with regulatory authorities and carriers as well as due consideration of local demand. The markets and release dates will be determined accordingly.

For remaining Galaxy Note 7 devices, components such as semiconductors and camera modules shall be detached by companies specializing in such services and used for test sample production purposes.

Finally, for left over component recycling, Samsung shall first extract precious metals, such as copper, nickel, gold and silver by utilizing eco-friendly companies specializing in such processes.

As part of our ongoing commitment to recycling, Samsung also plans to join the EU’s R&D and test efforts to develop new eco-friendly processing methods.

Galaxy Note 7  has a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED curved edge display with an always-on feature which was first introduced in Galaxy S7. Powered by an Exynos Octa-core 8890 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is further expandable with MicroSD card up to 256GB. Dual SIM device runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) On camera it has a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, OIS,f/1.7 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Dual Pixel rear camera promises brighter and sharper images, even in low light. It has hybrid dual SIM support that lets you use the second slot as an expansion slot when required. In addition to a fingerprint scanner, Samsung has added an Iris scanner for the first time that would let you unlock the phone using eye recognition.




he stylus tip became slimmer from 1.6mm to 0.7mm compared to the Note 5 and the pen itself is twice as sensitive to pressure as its predecessor.  The Screen off memo lets you pin memo to the Always On Display. Smart Select lets you easily create and share GIF animations and new Air Command functions Magnify and Translate, enable users to zoom in on the screen or convert languages with a simple hover of the S Pen. Packed by a 3500mAh Battery.
