Sony Xperia XZ Premium gets Android 8.0 Oreo update

Sony has started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for  Xperia XZ Premium Starting today. Some of the neat new features for this device include

3D Creator – Our acclaimed 3D scanning feature first introduced with Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact. It lets you scan your face, head, food or any object, rendering it as a 3D avatar or free-form image in less than 60 seconds, and makes it easy to share on social media with friends or 3D print

Predictive Capture (smile) – Never miss an unexpected again, as Predictive Capture automatically starts buffering images when it detects a smile (even before you press the shutter button), allowing you to pick the best from a selection of up to four shots

Autofocus burst – Recognises, tracks and captures sequences of moving objects in sharp focus for blur-free action shots

Improved sound quality – Tuning improvements to the front-facing stereo speakers, and Qualcomm aptX HD audio. support for high-quality sounds when using wireless headphones

App Shortcuts – Re-imagined app shortcuts, which allow easy access to actions menus by long pressing the app icon

Sony  Xperia XZ Premium has a 5.5-inch 4K HDR display with Sony’s own technologies such as TRILUMINOS Display for mobile, X-Reality for mobile and Dynamic Contrast Enhancer. It has a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 256GB with microSD card

On Camera there is a 19MP rear camera with Exmos RS sensor, 1/2.3″ sensor, f/2.0 lens and  13-megapixel front-facing camera and also has a dedicated camera shutter button, similar to the predecessor. It has IP65/68 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.Dual SIM device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Packed with a 3230mAh battery and comes with a UCH-12 fast charger with Quick Charge 3.0 that can charge the phone up to 60% in 45 minutes.
