Betting big on the smartphone market in India, Chinese company vivo plans to launch more devices in the mid-price segment here.
The mid-price smartphone segment (devices priced Rs 15,000- 20,000) is estimated to be about 15 per cent of the overall India smartphone market.
“We are more focussed on the customer experience and value rather than the volumes. While we have devices priced sub-Rs 10,000, we are focussing on the Rs 15,000-20,000 range and we will introduce more devices,” vivo CEO India Alex Feng told PTI.
vivo today launched its new 4G-enabled smartphone ‘X5Pro’, priced at Rs 27,980, targetted at “upper middle class and HNIs”.
