Xiaomi to launch Mi Drone on May 25

Xiaomi will unveil its first drone later this month according to company CEO Lei Jun. Xiaomi Mi Drone to launch on May 25th in China




The unveiling of Xiaomi drones may cause anxiety at DJI (Da-Jiang Innovations Science and Technology), currently the leading drone vendor in China, Lei joked.

Xiaomi’s drones will be capable of taking 4K videos and support optical flow positioning technology, according to data available currently. Xiaomi also plans to unveil its Mi Band 2 smart bracelets at the end of June and Mi VR devices shortly, Lei noted, adding that Xiaomi is also developing related technologies for wireless charging, curved display, virtual SIM card and robot products.



Drone will be able to capture 4K videos at 30FPS, 1080p at 100 FPS, 60 FPS or 30 FPS moreover, it seems the drone will be capable of flying according to set GPS coordinates in the application.
