Yunicorn will be available in the offline market starting July

Yu launched its flagship smartphone Yunicorn in India priced at Rs 12999 now Yu has announced that smartphone will be available in the offline market in July, taking the traditional retail route to expand its consumer base in an increasingly competitive market.

Phone is currently available only on Flipkart , India’s largest online retailer , for a month through the flash-sale model starting June 7. The company expects about half of its sales to come from offline stores in a year and has set up distributors to achieve this target. “We did a pilot (with Reliance Retail) some time back and all the phones got sold out, so we decided to go ahead with making the phone available to all offline customers,” Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Yu Televentures, said, explaining the move.

“We certainly hope that the flagship would help us retain our leadership in the online market.” Yu is fighting for turf with Xiaomi, Motorola and new entrant LeEco in the online market.

Yunicorn  feature a 5.5-inch Full HD Display powered by a 1.8GHz  Mediatek Helio P10 processor MT6755M with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.On camera it has a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera. Device runs on Android 5.1with the AOS (Android on Steroids) interface that has the Around 2.0 service. It is a customized OS with the new design language .connectivity options in the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and the other standard set of options. The device has Fingerprint scanner on front . Packed by a 4000mAh Battery which company claims to get 4days of battery life on Single charge

YU YUNICORN comes in rush silver, graphite and limited edition rush gold color and is priced at Rs. 12,999 for the first month. After that it will be priced at Rs. 13499. It will be exclusively available from Flipkart.
