Asus Zenfone 3 Laser (ZC551KL) Review

Asus introduced Zenfone 3 Laser (ZC551KL)  another smartphone in Zenfone 3 series we have already reviewed Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 MAX. Asus Zenfone 3 Laser comes with  Octa-core processor, 4GB RAM. Here’s our full review of Zenfone 3 Laser.

Asus Zenfone 3 laser comes with a unibody metal design. On the front, we have a 8 MP front-facing camera sensors, earpiece and notification LED. Below the display, there are three Capacitive buttons which are not  Backlit keys On the bottom there is Micro USB port and Speaker along with a microphone. On the top, the phone is a 3.5mm audio jack. Volume rockers and the power button is on right side of the phone.Coming to the left, we have SIM card slot device comes with Hybrid SIM  supports which means One SIM with MicroSD card or  Dual SIM card support.

On the back, we have a metal body design 13 Megapixel rear camera with Dualtone LED Flash and Fingerprint Scanner below there is Asus branding and antenna lines on top and bottom. Asus Zenfone 3 Laser has a curved edge on the rear which gives it grip to use the smartphone in single hand.Zenfone 3 laser measures 149 x 76 x 7.9 mm and weights 150 grams. On Design Zenfone 3 laser looks similar to Zenfone Max with some changes

 

 

Zenfone 3 Laser feature a 5.5-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS display with 2.5D Curved Glass and creates a pixel density of 401 PPI similar to Zenfone 3 viewing angles is good in outdoor in direct sunlight conditions.Asus Zenfone 3 laser is Powered by a 1.4 GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Processor with Adreno 505 GPU coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage out of which 23GB is available for user device also supports MicroSD card up to 128GB. Zenfone 3 Laser performance is fast we didn’t face any issue Display, normal use. There was some heating and lag while playing high-end games for more than 15-20minutes. Asus Zenfone 3 laser performed well in our Benchmark test On AnTuTu Benchmark phone score 44350 points, Geekbench 3 scores 635 on a single core and 2045 on Multicore.

Overall performance of device is good as said earlier Snapdragon 430 is budget chipset so while playing high-end games device slow down and there was a frame drop

Coming to Camera  Zenfone 3 Max has a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture,, Laser Auto Focus, 3-axis EIS and 8MP front-facing camera.The phone also comes with camera modes such as Auto, Manual, HDR Pro, Beautification, Super Resolution.Low Light, QR code, Night, Effect, Selfie, Panorama, Time Lapse and more modes.Zenfone 3 Laser can record videos up to 1080p at 30 fps. The 13mp rear camera on Zenfone 3 laser produces good images in Outdoor and indoor condition as well as in a low light condition. The front camera also captures decent images. Overall camera performance is Good when compared to other smartphones available at this price range

 

 

 

 

Asus Zenfone 3 Laser has a fingerprint Scanner on rear similar to Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Max which is fast and responsive it can also allow users to take a call or capture images using fingerprint scanner we can add up to five fingerprints.

Asus Zenfone 3 Laser (ZC551KL) runs on  Android 6.0.1  marshmallow with Asus own ZenUI 3.0 on top of it. It comes with a lot of pre-loaded apps which can be uninstalled.Asus has include power & Boost app which clears the memory of apps which are not in use. The overall software is fast and we didn’t face any lag. Rest all Zen UI features are similar to other Zenfone series smartphones.Asus has rolled out Android 7.0 Nougat Update for Zenfone 3 no details when Zenfone 3 Laser will get Nougat Update

On Connectivity device include 4G VoLTE Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/ac, ,GPS/A-GPS, and Glonass. Dual SIM device supports Hybrid SIM and MicroSD card. Speaker output is clear when volume is full, but when Volume is little bit low sound is less . Speaker output could have been better output via headphone jack was loud and clear, Sound on calls there was no issue device supports VoLTE which works fine with Reliance Jio calls also worked for us without any issue both SIM support 4G SIM. Coming to Battery Asus Zenfone 3 Laser is packed with a 3000mAh Battery which can deliver battery life up to One day on normal use whereas on heavy use and Dual SIM 4G support we got a battery life of about 12 hours with Screen on time of around 3-4 hours.

Asus Zenfone 3 Laser comes in Glacier Silver and Sand Gold colors. Zenfone 3 Laser was launched in India priced at Rs. 18,999 which is now available for Rs 16,999 on Flipkart. At this price it offers a better camera, Display, Design Processor could have been better Asus Zenfone 3 Laser will be comparator to Moto G4 Plus and Lenovo K6 Note.Someone looking for better camera this could be good option
