Asus ZenFone Live (ZB501KL) Review

Asus launched ZenFone Live smartphone in India which comes with a Live-streaming beautification app priced at Rs 9999. Is it worth buying? Here’s our Full review of Asus ZenFone Live (ZB501KL).

On Design Asus ZenFone Live looks similar to other Zenfone series smartphone available in Market. on the front,
there is a 5MP front-facing camera with LED Flash, sensor, earpiece, and notification LED. Below the display, there are three capacitive buttons. There is a micro USB port, Speaker Grill at the bottom along with a microphone.On the top, the phone has a 3.5mm audio jack. Volume rockers and the power button is on right side of the phone  On the left side is the hybrid SIM tray that can house two Nano SIM cards or one Nano SIM along with a microSD card.

 

 

 

 

On the Rear, it has a polycarbonate back with Metal on Side. It has a  13-megapixel Rear camera with LED Flash and Asus logo below. The Phone measures 141.2 x 71.74 x 7.95mm and Weight: 120g which is light also there is curved edge on the rear which gives Good grip in the hand. The device is comfortable to use in single hand and overall build is great.ZenFone Live features a 5-inch display HD Display along with 2.5D glass that curves at the edges.at this price Asus could have include 1080P Display but still offers vibrant colors, good brightness levels, and wide viewing angles. Overall.

Asus Zenfone Live is powered by a 1.21GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB RAM. The phone comes with 16GB of internal memory out of which around 9GB is available for users further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. coming to performance it is decent not that Great there was no lag while Playing normal games but it heats up while Playing high-end games. Geekbench 4 scores 495 points on single core and 1376 on multi-core On Antutu Phones Zenfone Live Scores 27115 points. Snapdragon 410 is now almost 3 years old Asus should have included Snapdragon 425 or Snapdragon 430 with Zenfone Live.

Asus ZenFone Live runs on  Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Asus own ZenUI 3.0 on top of it. It comes with a lot of pre-loaded apps which can be uninstalled.Asus has include power & Boost app which clears the memory of apps that are not in use. There are also options to change the themes. Double tap to wake up. You can choose which apps and widgets to add on the home screen.  Asus also lets you select the home screen options, the menu layout, and gives a number of themes, wallpapers, scroll effects, and icon packs when you long-press the home screen. No details if Zenfone Live will be getting Nougat update or Not Asus should have launched Zenfone Live Nougat out of a box as Zenfone 3s Max runs on Android Nougat.

On Camera, Asus Zenfone Live comes with a 13- 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture Laser Auto Focus and LED Flash and a 5MP front-facing camera with LED flash f/2.2 aperture. ZenFone Live offers real-time beautification with a live-streaming beautification app. It lets you see your skin smoothed and blemishes removed in real time Asus. It also says that BeautyLive integrates seamlessly with Facebook, YouTube, and many other popular streaming apps. The rear camera captures a good photo in daylight, low light camera performance is average   Selfies captured using the front camera are good and produce good images.

 

 

 

On Connectivity, it includes 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS . Audio Quality of call and speaker output was loud and clear. we didn’t notice any issues while on Phone calls. Asus Zenfone Live supports OTG. Asus Zenfone Live is packed with a 2650mAh battery which gives a battery back of 12-14 hours of battery life with Heavy use and One Day of Battery life on Normal use.

Asus ZenFone Live comes in Rose Pink and Navy Black colors Priced at Rs. 9,999 available from Flipkart, Amazon.in and other online retailers as well as offline stores across India. Zenfone Live offers Live Beautify mode for selfies, is Lightweight, Lacks a Fingerprint scanner, Old processor, Priced higher. there are other options from Asus Like Zenfone 3 Max, Zenfone 3s Max which offers better specs.also, there is Lenovo K6 Power, Redmi 4 and Yu Yureka Black.
