Motorola has started rollout of the Marshmallow update to the Moto G 2014 in India. Both 3G and LTE-enabled models are receiving the update, which brings Doze, Google Now on Tap, app permissions, ability to extend internal storage through the SD card, and more.
Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) got the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update back in January last year in India. It got patches for Stagefright exploit back in September last year,Motorola confirmed Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for a range of smartphones back in October last year. It recently added the Moto E (2nd Gen) 4G to list and said that it will get the Marshmallow update in some regions such as Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia, excluding China.
Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) over-the-air (OTA) update v24.41.34 for the Moto G (2nd gen) is 464.2MB in size and also includes the Android security update for December.
