Oneplus 2 to come with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. With LPDDR4, you get twice the bandwidth performance as the LPDDR3 at the same power consumption profile. The RAM of the OnePlus 2 uses a lower operating voltage than its predecessor, decreasing from 1.2V to 1.1V. And with speeds up to 32 GB/s, it is also twice as fast as the LPDDR3. It offers optimal support for power-saving low frequency mode that brings clock speeds down when performing those everyday and necessary tasks.

The phone will ship with a new version of Oxygen OS based on AOSP 5.1 Lollipop.OnePlus is committed to Oxygen OS—their own fork of AOSP and alternative to Cyanogen OS—and they have an impressive team of people working on it. OnePlus is “very excited” to show off the new features and improvements they’ve made to the OS since its last release, and they claim to have very worked to tailor the OS specifically to the SnapDragon 810 v2.1, optimizing for power, agility, and temperature.

Whether the new phone will be easily unlockable, rootable, and flashable, is a matter of speculation. But, given OnePlus’s history and work with Cyanogen, despite Oxygen OS being the new “official” ROM, it’s nearly inconceivable that regular updates of CyanogenMod and other custom ROMs won’t be forthcoming—or even directly encouraged.

One Plus to come with 3300mAh battery

In response to a query about expected battery life on the upcoming phone, David S. of OnePlus replied that the OnePlus 2 will have a 3300 mAh battery. Compared to the original OnePlus One and its 3100 mAh battery this represents a 10% improvement. This combined with the faster and more efficient LPDDR4 RAM onboard, there’s a good chance that standby times should be decent enough.

To recall, the OnePlus 2 launch event would be kicking off at 7pm PT (7:30am IST) on July 27 and would be live-streamed around the world.
