Realme 1 3GB RAM Review

Realme Sub-brand from Oppo launched Realme 1 Smartphone which comes with Helio P60 Processor, 18:9 Display. here’s review of 3GB RAM variant of Realme 1

In terms of Design Realme 1 comes with a diamond-like glow and light refractions, with triangular-cut patterns that shimmer bright and dark shades when seen from different angles It looks like Glass but its made up of plastic looks good. On The front, it has a 6-inch FHD+ Display, Earpiece, Sensors front facing camera with LED Flash below there is On Screen Buttons, On right it has a SIM Slot and power button. Volume and Power button on Left Side, On Bottom, it has a speaker grill, Micro USB, and 3.5mm Audio Jack.

At Rear, There is 13MP Rear Camera with LED Flash, Realme, and Oppo branding. The Phone measures 156×75.3×7.8mm; Weight: 158g. The Phone does not come with Notification LED. Build Quality is good can be used in single hand. The back panel looks beautiful but attracts fingerprints it’s better to use the case provided as the device will get scratches.

Realme 1 has a 6-inch (2160 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ IPS display which is protected by Gorilla Glass no details which version used it comes with pre-applied screen protector out of the box. The display produces Good color and viewing angles in bright sunlight you need to enable full brightness auto brightness sensor works fine.

Realme 1 is powered by Octa Core MediaTek Helio P60 (MT6771) 12nm processor (Quad 2GHz Cortex A73 + Quad 2GHz Cortex A53 CPUs) with 800MHz ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. Performance is fast after playing games for more than 30 Min the phone heats up you can also notice frame drop at a certain point,  while normal use or using data there is no heating issue. There is RAM management issue with 3GB RAM as it does not keep more than 3 Apps in memory you can select which Apps need to autostart or not. Realme will be rolling out a software update to fix this issue.

The phone scores 130137 points on AnTuTu.  It comes with 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, expandable memory up to 256GB with microSD. Out of 32GB Around 21GB is available for the user there is also support for dedicated MicroSD Slot. The overall performance of the phone is good for the price point it is available.

It runs on ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo). ColorOS comes with many customization options. there is support for gestures, App Lock, File Lock, Smart call, you can change themes, lock Screen wallpaper and more. The user interface is Not Smooth as Stock Android you will notice some lag or slow down. Realme 1 will.be getting Android P Update there are no details when exactly it will get. As oppo phones don’t get Software update so fast.

Realme 1 Tips, Tricks

On Camera, Realme1 has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, and 8MP front-facing camera, f/2.2 aperture. Both Rear and front Camera support for 1080P Video recording. Camera App mode includes Photo, video, Sticker, time-lapse, Panorama, and HDR There is also Depth Mode for both front and Rear Camera which works on front camera compared to the rear does not work under low light. Both front and the Rear camera produce Good images under daylight and lowlight, Video recording from both front and Rear Cameras is average, The Front camera depth mode works great and gives good bokeh effect for selfies. Overall camera performance is decent most of the phones nowadays come with Dual Lens like Honor 7C, Redmi Y2 in this price range

 

 

 

 

 

 

Realme 1 biggest drawback is lack of a fingerprint Scanner It comes with Face Unlock feature. It works under good lighting low lighting it works sometimes not always also it’s not as secure as a Fingerprint Scanner, It can unlock the phone even if your eyes are closed.
Connectivity Options Include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS .Realme 1 has support for Dual 4G you can use two 4G SIM at Same Time as of now only Reliance Jio works no support for Airtel, Idea or Vodafone VoLTE on Realme 1. Voice quality overcall is loud and clear it has support for native video calling. The output from the speaker and 3.5mm audio jack is decently loud and clear.

Packed with a 3410mAh battery which comes with 5V 2A output It does not support any fast charge almost takes 2 Hour 25 Min to charge fully. It can easily last of one day with heavy use.

 

Realme 1 offers Good performance, Battery life, Decent camera but lacks Fingerprint Scanner, faceunlock & RAMmanagementt needs improvement, Plastic body, No fast charge. If you are looking to Buy 3GB RAM model under Rs 10,000. it’s value for money option if you are okay with the phone in 2018 without Fingerprint Scanner. Zenfone Max Pro M1, Redmi Note 5 Pro are other options you can consider instead of buying 4GB & 6GB RAM variant just for Helio P60. It comes in Diamond Black and Solar Red color priced at Rs  8990 for 3GB RAM, Rs 10,990 for 4GB RAM and 13,990 for 6GB RAM variant.
