Realme U1 3GB RAM Review

Realme U1 is the company’s first Selfie centric smartphone in U series. Realme U1 comes with a 25MP front camera. We have used the 3GB RAM variant of Realme U1 Here’s our Review of Realme U1.

Realme U1 Box content includes Phone, TPU Case, User guide, warranty information, SIM Tool, Micro USB Cable, 5V 2A Charger. SRA Values 1.18 W/kg (Head), 0.529 W/Kg (Body).

On Design Realme U1 looks identical to Realme 2 Pro. On the front, It has a 6.3-inch IPS Display with dewdrop Notch. On the right, there is the power button, SIM slot and volume button left side. On the bottom, there is Micro USB Port and  Speaker grill. The Rear Panel reflects which looks like Glass but it is made up of plastic. It has Dual Rear Camera with LED Flash, Fingerprint Scanner and Realme Branding. The back attracts fingerprints and its difficult to clean it’s better to use case which is provided in the Box. Overall build looks good the phone is lighter in hand when compared to Realme 2 Pro.

 

 

 

 

Realme U1 comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (1080×2340-pixel)  Display which has dewdrop notch which produces good colors and Viewing angle, Display quality in outdoor is also good. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, The phone comes with screen guard pre-applied which gets scratches easily. Realme U1 is an affordable smartphone in India to come with dewdrop notch  Display.

Realme U1 is powered by Octa Core MediaTek Helio P70 12nm processor with 900MHz ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It has 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, expandable memory up to 256GB with MicroSD Card. Out of 32GB around 21GB is available for the user.
the phone scores 134640 points in AnTuTu. The performance is fast there was no lag, You can play PUBG, Asphalt 9 at Higher settings without any lag, The Phone does get heat up while playing games at higher settings. 3GB RAM variant has RAM management issue. Overall performance is good.

Realme U1 has a  13MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, 2MP secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture 25MP front-facing camera, f/2.0 aperture, AI, Sony IMX576 sensor. It can record 1080P videos from both cameras does not has EIS support. Rear camera performance is decent front camera produces good selfies portrait mode works well, Video recording is Average. It has also support for Slow Motion Video recording.



Realme U1 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.2  which will be getting Android Pie later this year. ColorOS comes with gestures and Motion, split-screen mode, App clone, Gamespace, Navigations key,3 Fingerprint screenshot. Realme has fixed swipe right to clear Notification, You can Change camera storage to MicroSD card. Still, Color OS needs a lot of improvement. ColorOS 6 with Android Pie Update will bring new features like Show Battery use details. The overall user interface on  Realme U1 is good.

Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS. It has a Fingerprint Scanner and Face Unlock Support. Fingerprint Scanner works fast it can also be used to lock Apps. Face unlock works in good lighting, Does not work in Low Light. It has support for Dual VoLTE, Jio VoLTE works fine. Call quality is clear we didn’t face any network issue with Realme U1. The audio output from the speaker is decent could have been better. Realme U1 is packed by a 3500mAh battery which does not support fast charging. It Takes More than 2 Hours Charge fully. Realme U1 is able to deliver One day of battery life In our battery test we got 8 Hours of Screen on Time While Playing PUBG for continuously we got more than 5 Hours of battery backup.



Realme U1 comes in Ambitious Black, Brave Blue and Fiery Gold color priced at Rs 10,999   for 3GB RAM and Rs 13,499 for 4GB RAM. Priced at Rs 10,999 Realme U1 offers a Good front camera, Performance and Dewdrop Display lacks Fast charging, No Notification LED, Average Rear Camera. 4GB RAM looks slightly overpriced when Realme 2 Pro is available for Rs 13,990 with Much better Rear Camera, Similar Performance, Battery Life also Honor 8X and Zenfone Max Pro M2.
