Redmi A1 Review

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi A1 smartphone in its new Redmi A series. It comes with Helio A22 Processor, Android 12 Go Edition priced at Rs 6499. Here’s our review of Redmi A1.

 

 

On Design Redmi A1 has a plastic build with a Leather textured finish which prevents smudges and gives a good grip in hand. On the front, it has a 6.5-inch waterdrop notch display. the power button and volume buttons on the right. SIM Card slot on left. 3.5mm audio jack MicroUSB port. Single speaker on top. on the bottom. On the rear, it has a Dual Rear Camera and Redmi branding. It lacks a fingerprint scanner. The Phone measures 164.9x 76.75x 9.09mm and Weight: 192g. Overall In hand feel, build quality is good.

 

 

 

It has a 6.52-inch (1600 x 720 pixels) HD+ 20:9 aspect ratio display, 400 nits brightness. the viewing experience is good. brightness in outdoor usage is decent, indoors is good. It runs on the Android 12 operating system (Go Edition) with no MIUI on top. No bloatware is installed on the phone. Running on the latest security patch, the user interface is close to stock android.
Redmi A1 is powered by Quad-Core MediaTek Helio A22 12nm processor with 2GB LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB eMMC 5.1 internal storage which is further expandable memory up to 512GB with microSD. It is targeted at first-time users performance is decent for normal use like social media, WhatsApp, and music. Not for playing high-end games can play casual games. Overall performance is decent.
On Camera, it has an 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, depth sensor, and 5MP front-facing camera. Both cameras can record 1080p videos. camera mode includes Short Video, Timelapse, and Portrait. The rear camera captures good images in good lighting conditions, low light is decent. Selfies are good. Video recording is average.
It comes with Splash resistant (P2i coating). Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + GLONASS. The Speaker output is decent and the Call quality is loud and clear. Packed by a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging which takes close to 3 Hours to charge fully. With normal use, u can get one day of battery life, heavy use around 10-12 hours of backup. In our battery test, we got around 8 Hours of battery life.

 

Redmi A1 comes in Light Blue, Classic Black, and Light Green colors, priced at Rs. 6499. It offers a good design, decent performance, and Camera, It lacks a fingerprint there is Redmi A1 Plus with a fingerprint Scanner. Poco C50 comes with similar Specs and has a fingerprint scanner. Moto E13 offers a better processor, Android 13, good camera.
