Redmi Note 9 Pro Review

Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in India. India Redmi Note 9 Pro launched as Redmi Note 9S in some markets. Redmi Note 9 Pro has Snapdragon 720G Processor, 5020mAh Battery price starts at Rs 13,999. Is it worth the price lets found out in our review?

Redmi Note 9 Pro has a Glass build design with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and back. On the front, it has a 6.67 FHD+ Display with a center punch-hole display. Volume rockers, the power button on the right side, the Power button also include a fingerprint scanner. Dual SIM + microSD card slot on left. On the bottom, 3.5mm audio jack,  speaker grill, USB Type-C port.  IR blaster and the secondary microphone on top

. On Rear, there is a squared Quad Rear camera setup with Redmi branding on the bottom. The phone measures 165.75*76.68*8.8mm and Weight: 209g. Its huge phones with a bigger battery, display not to be used in a single hand. Build quality is good.

Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with a 6.67-inch (2400  × 1080 pixels) 20:9 Full HD+ LCD Display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, Center Punch hole display, display quality is good produces vibrant colors and viewing angles. Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with a 60Hz refresh rate compared to Realme 6, Poco X2 which comes with a 90/120Hz refresh rate. Overall Display is good, Redmi should have gone with 90Hz Refresh rate.

Redmi Note 9 Pro is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 720G 8nm Mobile Platform (Dual 2.3GHz Kryo 465 A76 + Hexa 1.8GHz Kryo 465 A55 CPUs) with Adreno 618 GPU. Coupled with up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB/128GB UFS2.1 storage which is further expandable with MicroSD card up to 256GB. Snapdragon 720G brings in support for NavIC (The Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System).In terms of normal use, performance is good while playing PUBG, Asphalt 9 phone does get warm no major heating issue. Overall gaming performance is good.

 

Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 48MP primary Samsung ISOCELL GM2 with f/1.79 aperture, 8MP 120° ultra-wide-angle lens, 5MP 2cm macro lens, 2MP depth sensor, supports PDAF and EIS It comes with 16MP front-facing camera. video recording support up to 4K at 30fps. EIS Support up to 1080p. It comes with night mode, 960fps slow-motion, AI scene recognition, pro color mode. Redmi Note 9 Pro captures good images in daylight and Indoor conditions, Low light camera is decent. Front Camera captures good selfies. Portrait mode is edge detection is good.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with 5020mAh Battery which is higher in Note Series which is able to deliver more than 2 Days of battery life with Normal use. In our battery test, we got around 11 hours of battery life, In the PUBG Gaming test we got around 9 hours of backup and Video loop test around 14 hours of backup. Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with 18W fast charger in the box which takes around 2 Hour 30 Min to charge fully. Redmi Note 9 Pro Max comes with a 33W fast charger in the box.

Redmi Note 9 Pro runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 10 which will be getting MIUI 12 Soon. MIUI 11 brings many features like Dual Apps, Second Space, App lock, and many customizations. Just like any other Redmi phone, Redmi Note 9 Pro also has ads built-in.Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz) 2 x 2 MIMO, VoWiFi, Bluetooth 5, GPS.

It comes with Fingerprint Scanner on the power button which works fast when using a phone with Case sometimes it doesn’t unlock the phone, there is also support for face unlock which works under good lighting conditions doesn’t work in low light.  Voice call quality is loud and clear, Audio output from the speaker and 3.5mm audio Jack is decent.


Redmi Note 9 Pro is priced at Rs 13,999 for 4GB RAM and Rs 16,999 for 6GB RAM. 4GB RAM model looks value for money it offers good performance, battery life, camera, Charging takes a long time. 6GB RAM cost Rs 16,999 whereas Redmi Note 9 Pro Max (6GB+64GB) available at Rs 16,499 which will be a better option with a 64MP Main sensor, 33W Fast charging support.
