Sony has announced probably a world’s first in Japan; the LED light bulb speaker. Yes you read that right. It is indeed an LED light bulb that has a speaker built right into it along with Bluetooth functionality.
The LED Light Bulb speaker has a maximum luminosity of 360 lumens and comes with an integrated wireless 40mm full range 2W speaker. The bulb can be easily controlled with a smartphone app called ‘SongPal’ for adjusting a brightness of the bulb and volume of the speaker. There is also a dedicated remote that can be paired with the bulb via NFC. It connects both by Bluetooth 3.0 and by NFC remote control.
Sony LED light bulb speaker will be available in Japan starting May 23 and will be available via company’s online store for 23,880 Japanese Yen ($199).
