WD has launched its My Passport X portable hard drive in India. Launched in its 2TB variant, the My Passport X portable drive is priced at Rs. 8,715 and will be available on Amazon.
Meant for gamers, the WD My Passport X portable drive can be connected to an Xbox One console or a PC, and features USB 3.0 connectivity. Not requiring a separate power supply, the portable drive is also claimed to be built for durability and shock tolerance.
The storage solutions company adds that the WD My Passport X portable hard drive offers a simple setup process, with on-screen instructions. WD will offer a 2-years’ limited regional warranty with the My Passport X portable hard drives. Weighing in at 231 grams, the hard drive measures 21x82x110mm. Apart from the Xbox One, the hard drive is compatible with Windows and Mac based computers.
“With modern games becoming larger in file size, console gamers can store fewer games on the devices themselves. The My Passport X portable drive provides a fast and convenient extension to a console’s storage capacity,” said Khalid Wani, Director, Content Solutions Business, India, Middle East and Africa for WD. “Xbox One is already available with Amazon.in. This launch will allow consumers to conveniently purchase the My Passport X drives from the same e-tailer.”
