Micromax Canvas Nitro 4G Review

Micromax launched Canvas Nitro 4G smartphone in their canvas series priced at Rs 10,550. As the name says 4G it supports 4G on both SIM slots. here is our review of Canvas Nitro 4G.

Design & Display

Micromax canvas Nitro features a 5-inch Display at the front Above the Display there is Notification light sensor, a circular ear piece instead of the regular elongated one and 5 Megapixel Front facing camera. Below the Display there On screen button. On the Right, there are Volume Rockers and Power button. On Left Side, there is nothing coming to Top there is 3.5 mm headphone jack and noise cancellation microphone On the bottom there is USB port and Speaker Grill. The phone looks stylish with two chrome rings which feel like more plastic. On the back, it has a soft matte finish on the plastic cover on the back looks similar to the sandstone finish on the  One plus smartphones and 13 Mega- pixel rear camera with LED flash and Micromax logo below it. Overall the build quality of the phone is quite good and weighs 134g which is light can be used in One hand. It has a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 ) Display which comes to 295 PPI and also Comes with Corning gorilla glass 3. The display quality is decent, good viewing angles offers good sunlight visibility.

Performance

 

Coming to performance Canvas Nitro 4G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 Octa core processor clocked at 1,4 GHz which is coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage out of which 11.49 GB is available for a user which is further expandable up to 32 GB via MicroSD card. The performance of the device is quite smooth. the device does not lag while playing games or while using apps. played games such as Temple Run 2, Angry Birds, Racing fever which works fine with no heating issue, while playing some high-end games like  Asphalt 8, Real racing 3 there was little frame drops, gets warms after playing games for more than 15-min. Multitasking on the devices works smoothly without any issues with almost 10-12 apps running in the background. We tried Running some benchmark apps AnTuTu Benchmark scored 30637. Geekbench 3 scored 2103 on multi core and 587 on a Single core. On Quadrant Standard it scored 19784

 

Software

 

 

Micromax Canvas Nitro 4G runs on Android Lollipop 5.0.2 out of the box which is similar to Stock Android with. It comes with some pre-installed applications such as pp Center, Chaatz, Clean Master, Hotstar, Housing, NewsHunt, Quikr, Scandid, Snapdeal, swift key, Saavn. etc apps can be moved to MicroSD card also User interface offers smooth user experience.

 

Camera

 

On camera, it comes with 13MP  Auto-Focus rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP front camera. The rear camera can click some well-detailed photos in daylight as well as indoors with minimal noise. Even close-up macro shots are superb. In low light, and even in the night mode images captured are not up to mark. The 5-megapixel front camera is sharp and wide enough for group selfies and occasional video calls .phone also do full HD video recording from the rear camera. The camera app comes with some effects such as HDR, Auto HDR, Night, Firework, Candlelight Landscape and much more. Both rear and front camera can capture decent images. But camera app needs more improvement Third party camera app works fine. Check out some camera samples below.

Connectivity & Battery

 

Canvas Nitro 4G  has a Dual SIM support and 4G connectivity with support for both TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) for India.  Also supports Bluetooth, GPS, WIFi. Audio Quality on the device is clear but little bit low , Speaker grill is located On bottom near USB port. The device is packed by a 2500mAh removable battery which gives battery back up of  More than One day under Normal use. While on 3G, WIFI, Normal Internet, playing games we got 12 hours of battery back. There is also power saving mode which is now available in every device running on Lollipop OS.

Micromax Canvas Nitro 4G  priced at Rs 10,550 gives good performance, Build quality of smartphone is good and can be used in single hand stock Android Lollipop, a bright display with Gorilla Glass 3, Dual LTE on both SIM rear camera capture good photos, front camera is average
