Samsung Galaxy A31 Review

Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy A31 smartphone in India. It comes with a 48MP Quad Rear Camera, 5000mAh Battery. Is it worth buying? let’s find out in our review.

Samsung Galaxy A31 comes Gradient finish Design, We have Prism Crush blue color, On the front, it has a 6.4-inch with an Infinity-U Display, an On-Screen button, Bezels on the bottom. Power and Volume button on the right, Speaker grill, 3.5mm audio Jack, Type C port on Bottom, Dual SIM + MicroSD slot on the left side. On top, there is a noise-cancellation microphone.

 

 

On Rear, it has an L Shaped Quad Rear Camera setup, Samsung branding, Curved edges give good grip in hand. Gradient finish which gives rainbow effect in different lighting conditions, Back panel is made up of polycarbonate, other phones in this price range other come with Glass back. The Phone measures  159.3 x 73.1 x 8.6mm and Weight: 185g. It can be easily used in a single hand. Overall build quality is good.

Samsung Galaxy A31 comes with a 6.4-inch (2400 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display. It produces good colors and Viewing angles. Auto brightness sensor works well,  In bright sunlight or outdoor conditions display is good, there is support for Always-on Display.

Samsung Galaxy A31 is powered by Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P65 12nm processor with ARM Mali-G52 GPU coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB eMMC storage which is further expandable up to 512GB with MicroSD Card performance in normal usage like social media apps, multitasking, playing normal games is good. RAM management on Galaxy A31 is good.

While Playing High-end Games like PUBG, Asphalt 9, Call of duty phone lags in between, Heat up while playing for a long time, gaming performance is decent. the processor could have been better. The Phone scores 168725 points on AnTuTu Benchmark.

On-Camera Galaxy A31 comes with a 48MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture,  8MP 123° ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, 5MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 5MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 20MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture. Both front and Rear Camera can record 1080p videos.  Camera modes include Live focus, macro, food, and panorama.

The rear Camera captures good images in daylight conditions, Wide-angle camera photos are also good, the low light camera is decent, Live focus works well. the front camera captures good selfies in daylight conditions, low light is decent. Rear Camera has support for dedicated 48MP mode and 20MP mode for the front camera. Video recording is decent, there is no support for EIS, Super Steady Mode, 4K Video recording, Slow-Mo video recording, Hyperlapse mode, Night mode.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Connectivity options include 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, Dolby Atmos, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS. Speaker output is loud and clear, Voice quality is good, and there is support VoWiFi calling.  Samsung Galaxy A31 comes with an In-display fingerprint sensor which is not fast as a physical fingerprint scanner, It takes a few seconds to unlock and works most of the time. There is also support for Face Unlock which works well in good lighting conditions. Galaxy A31 comes with Samsung Pay and Samsung Knox.

Samsung Galaxy A31 runs on Android 10 based on Samsung One UI 2.1. It has support for  Dark Mode, Game launcher, Dual Messenger,  Gestures support, Secure folder, Edge lighting, and more. The user interface is smooth we didn’t face any issue.



Samsung Galaxy A31 is backed by a 5000mAh battery with support for 15W Fast Charging. It is able to deliver more than One day of battery with normal usage, In our battery test, we got around 9 Hours 30 Min of Screen Time which includes Gaming, Video Playback, Social Media apps, Camera. It takes around 2 Hours 24 min to charge the device fully.

 


Samsung Galaxy A31 comes in Prism Crush blue, black, and white colors, Galaxy A31 targeted for Offline market priced at Rs 20,999 offers AMOLED panel, good camera,  Battery life, decent performance, polycarbonate build, compact design, pricing should have been lower. Galaxy M31, Galaxy A50s, Realme 6 Pro, Redmi Note Pro Max other options available.
