UPI has simplified digital payments, but users may still need help understanding their transactions, managing money, and tracking their spending. To address this, Google has introduced Ask Google Pay, an opt-in conversational AI experience built into the Google Pay app.

Powered by Google’s Gemini models, Ask Google Pay helps users analyse spending patterns, get savings tips, explore tailored offers, and learn about financial concepts such as SIPs and credit scores.

  • Analyse their spending patterns and understand where their money is being spent.
  • Get suggestions to save better and manage their money.
  • Explore tailored offers, including help finding a suitable credit card for travel expenses.
  • Learn about financial topics such as SIPs and credit scores.
  • Understand financial terms, compounding interest, and differences between tax regimes.

AI assistant provides personalised suggestions based on Google Pay transaction history and CIBIL report data available with Google Pay. Users can interact with Ask Google Pay through text input or voice queries and receive responses in supported Indian languages, with support available in 10 Indian languages.

Google said Ask Google Pay provides financial information and insights for educational purposes only and is not a replacement for professional financial advice. Since the feature is powered by AI, responses may occasionally contain errors.

Google recommends that users avoid sharing sensitive information such as passwords, PINs, full account numbers, or other financial identifiers with Ask Google Pay.
