YU is launching a new smartphone on September 8th that is two days away. Today, we have come up with the leaked spec sheet of the upcoming YU’s smartphone along with the import and benchmark listings, and the device is carrying a model number YU YU5050. Let’s dive into the details of future YU devices.
The GeekBench listing of YU YU5050 reveals the possession of an Octa-core MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 SoC and is rumored to clock 1.55GHz to avoid the thermal throttling of this chipset. The YU5050 will come with a 5.2-inch Full HD display and a 4GB of RAM. Meanwhile the Single-core score is 1353, and the multi-core score is 4622 on the GeekBench database.
The import listings of the device have also been leaked online with a price tag of INR 20752. We earlier speculated it to be a mid-ranger but considering the pricing, it appears like the device will be an expensive one and will compete with the OnePlus 2 and Zenfone 2 around the price bracket.
The camera front is rumored to sport a 13MP rear camera with OIS (Optical-Image-Stabilization) with dual-LED flash and a front 5MP snapper with an LED flash. There is Snapdragon 810 which means we can also find room for 4G LTE support, QuickCharge, but we aren’t sure whether the company has plans for deploying a fingerprint scanner or wireless charging into the device.
On the other hand, the event will have not only one smartphone but rather two which is expected to be an ultra-affordably priced smartphone that will be lower than Yuphoria and bears a model number of YU YU4711. The GeekBench listing shows that the device will be driven by a 1.21GHz ARM Qualcomm Snapdragon (MSM8916) Quad-core SoC backed with a 1GB of RAM and will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. GeekBench scores: Single-core score – 263 and a multi-core score: 743
