HP launches Omen 15 Gaming Laptop, Spectre x360 15, Pavilion 27 Quantum Dot, Chromebook 14

HP at CES 2019 has announced a revamped version of the current generation x360 15 convertible laptop, upgrades to OMEN 15 gaming laptops, HP Pavilion 27 Quantum Dot, Chromebook 14.

HP Spectre x360 15 will be the world’s first 15-inch laptop with an AMOLED display The AMOLED panel offers very bright and accurate colors, a very high contrast ratio, wide horizontal viewing angles, deep blacks, fast response time. The company says that the display will support HDR, but doesn’t specify whether it is HDR10 or Dolby Vision spec. HP didn’t reveal the screen resolution as well. It is powered by the powered by Intel’s quad-core Whiske Lake-U processors coupled with NVIDIA’s discrete GeForce GTX GPUs.

HP OMEN 15 gaming laptop comes with NVIDIA’s next-generation GeForce GPUs. It packs a 240Hz refresh rate display and a new WiFi 6 (802.11ax) controller. The OMEN 15 notebooks are powered by the Intel’s six-core Core i7-8750H processor and NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q GPU. It packs 16GB DDR4 RAM and 128GB M.2 SSD + 1TB 7200 RPM HDD. It comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display that comes with a 2.48 thickness chassis and weighs 2.38 kg. It comes with up to 32 GB of DDR4-2667, Thunderbolt 3, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and so on. There is a front-facing HP Wide Vision HD Webcam.

HP Pavilion 27 Quantum Dot is the world’s first Quantum Dot on glass display, offering more than a billion viewable colors. It is expected to be available in March for a starting price of $399. The HP Pavilion 27 FHD offers a variety of features such as built-in B&O audio and a pop-up privacy camera, and is expected to be available in March for a starting price of $329. The HP Pavilion 32 QHD is a dynamic display with immersive QHD resolution and stunning vantage points from almost any angle. It is expected to be available in June for a starting price of $379.99.

HP  Chromebook 14 which is also the first ChromeOS-powered PC featuring an AMD processor. It sports a 14-inch HD (1366×768 resolution) SVA display panel with anti-glare coating. It is based on AMD’s A4-9120C processor running at 1.8 GHz and the GCN 1.2-based Radeon R4 iGPU with 128 SPs operating at 720 MHz. It packs 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 32GB of local eMMC storage, and has a Qualcomm 802.11ac Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 4.2 controller, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C ports, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, a microSD card reader, a dual microphone array, B&O-badged speakers, a webcam. The company says that it can last up to nine hours and 15 minutes on a single charge.



HP Spectre X360 with AMOLED display-equipped Spectre x360 15 will be available in March. HP OMEN 15 gaming laptops will be made available in the coming months and the NVIDIA’s next-gen GPUs will start at $1,370
