Huawei has released Android 5.1 (Lollipop) update for the Honor 6 Plus smartphone in India, The Android 5.1 update brings new features, functionalities and improved user experience with visual refinements along with the new Emotion UI 3.1 update.
- See notifications on the home screen: No more unlocking your screen to read notifications. You can access notifications directly from the notifications bar on the unlock screen without having to swipe.
- Increased speed and convenience while searching: Adds an all-new search bar in the Settings function.
- Time-lapse photography: No matter how long the photography is, a video as short as 40 s is generated by means of intelligent dynamic frame extraction.
- More privacy via ‘Hidden Apps’ on the home screen: Feature of hiding apps on the home screen itself. All you have to do is slide upward with two fingers on the home page to display any hidden apps.
- Badge App icons: User can disable badges for a particular badge icon.
The Android 5.1.1 update for the Huawei 6 Plus is not available over-the-air (OTA). You need to manually download the 1.2GB ZIP file from the official Honor India support site here and follow the instructions inside it to update the smartphone. The Huawei Honor 4X will get the update on October 20th.
