Microsoft is expected to introduce new Lumia flagships, as well as a new low-end Lumia device at its upcoming Windows 10 devices event on October 6th. The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL is Microsoft’s upcoming flagship devices, and they both pack top-end specs. Additionally, we know Microsoft is working on new affordable devices, such as the Lumia 550. However, we have also heard that there’s another device on its way.
According to our sources, the software giant is currently working on a new mid-range Windows 10 device which is planned to be released soon after the launch of the first wave of devices (Lumia 950/Xl, 550). The device includes a metal frame, kind of like the Lumia 930. It won’t be another high-end monster, however, though — it will be another ‘affordable flagship‘ device, similar to the Lumia 830.
we suspect this may be the productivity device that Satya Nadella alluded to when they spoke “business-focused devices, phones for customers looking for low-price smartphones, and high-end devices for Windows enthusiasts.”
As a mid-range device, the handset will likely not feature specs that excite us. Nonetheless, keep in mind that Microsoft’s plans could change, and the device may not ever see the light of the day. That being said, if you are waiting for a Lumia 830 successor, you may want to wait a little longer.
