MWC 2016

MWC 2016 takes place between February 22 and 25, 2016 in Barcelona. Here are some of devices that we expect to be announced at MWC 2016.
Samsung Galaxy S7 / Galaxy S7 Edge

s7

S7 is rumored to come with a 5.2 inch display, there will also be a Samsung Galaxy S7 version of the handset with a 5.7 inch display. Both handsets are rumored to have a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels 4GB of RAM . 16MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera.

Pre-orders for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge might go live on February 21

HTC

htc one m101

HTC also typically uses MWC to present the latest in its flagship One series. We expect to see the struggling company present the HTC One M10 at MWC 2016  Rumours have been varied, with few clues about what to expect, but the codename is suggested to be HTC Perfume. Whatever HTC launches, it needs to be a hit. We’re confident about Sense 8, we’re sure it will be Snapdragon 820 powered, but the design needs to hit it out of the park and the camera needs to be excellent.

Sony

Sony

At MWC 2015 sony launched  Xperia Z4 Tablet and the M4 Aqua, so don’t be surprised if we see the Xperia Z5 Tablet alongside a few mid-range offerings.. There’s few rumours at present, although some are already talking about the Xperia Z6. Sony could launch Xperia Z6 at MWC

LG

LG MWC

LG has issued a save the date for MWC 2016, with a press event scheduled for 2pm on Sunday 21 February. The invite simply says “play begins”, so it’s difficult to ascertain exactly what LG has planned.LG tends to launch its flagship handsets independently of MWC, although last year it took the time to show off the LG Watch Urbane, along with a couple of mid-range handsets. With the LG Watch Urbane 2 having been effectively pulled from sale, it might be time to consolidate on wearables.

LG G5 launch Feb 21

LG G5 is said to sport a 5.3-inch Quad HD screen  powered by a Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor  with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Microsoft

Microsoft Lumia 850 02

Microsoft has made a big move recently, shifting over to Windows 10 and aiming for a single platform strategy across all its hardware. The phone side of things has got off to a slightly rocky start. We’re awaiting the update for legacy Windows Phone 8 devices for starters, and critical acclaim for Windows 10 (phone) hasn’t been great.Microsoft might be looking to expand its line-up of devices with a Lumia 650, an entry-level handset. And there have been recent murmurings about the possible arrival of a mid-range Lumia 750, perhaps even an 850, thanks to certification seemingly leaked from an official Chinese communications regulator. In addition, Surface Phone rumours still churn, but at the moment, we think that’s wishful thinking.

Project Ara

Considering Project Ara’s trial run in Puerto Rico was been delayed until 2016, we think MWC 2016 will be the right place to unveil the first consumer-ready versions of Google’s modular smartphone, along with a whole host of replaceable modules.Project Ara should finally be getting off the ground in early 2016

Virtual reality

VR is going to be playing an increasingly visible part in the mobile technology space. We’ve already seen a couple of versions of Samsung’s Gear VR headset, the Oculus Rift is nearing completion, Project Tango is in full swing and the HTC Vive will hit shelves at Christmas 2015.

BlackBerry

BlackBerry didn’t say much about mobile at CES 2016, except dropping in that we could expect Android devices to be launched this year rather than BB 10. Following the great BlackBerry Priv, that’s probably a smart move.Rumours currently suggest a touch and type candybar phone going by the name BlackBerry Vienna. It looks like a budget Android handset based on the Leap, but including a keyboard. There’s been previous rumours that BlackBerry might move the Passport over to Android too. With BlackBerry reasserting itself in devices, MWC 2016 could be hugely important for the company.

Huawei

Huawei is making waves in the smartphone industry, strong handsets in 2015 with the Nexus 6P, Mate S and the 2016 launch of the Mate 8. That would be the Huawei P9, although with a number of hot handsets at the top, Huawei’s strategy could be getting a little congested, but rumours for this next handset have already started.

Lenovo/Motorola

Lenovo MWC2016

Lenovo is reportedly ditching the Motorola branding to focus on the Moto name instead. With a big stake in smartphones, Lenovo is likely to have a presence at MWC, but probably pushing its Vibe smartphone brand. If there’s a Moto handset that’s due an update, it will probably be the Moto E, although the company has traditionally launched new devices away from the trade show.

Qualcomm

Qualcomm is expected to be pushing the message behind Snapdragon 820 in a big way at MWC 2016. We’ve already seen the first SD820 handset launched, the LeTV Le Max Pro, at CES 2016, but we expect a lot more talk about power and efficiency in the latest smartphones at MWC.
Then there’s wearables. With Intel grabbing headlines through various wearable partnerships with the likes of Tag Heuer, New Balance and Fossil, Qualcomm will probably want to point out that it’s powering a large number of Android Wear devices.
