Alcatel OneTouch has unveiled a new Android tablet with an enormous screen… but if you think of the Alcatel OneTouch Xess as something other than a tablet, the 17.3 inch screen might make sense. The device has a stainless steel body and a kickstand that can be adjusted to 30, 50, or 75 degree angles, allowing you to prop up the Xess for viewing movies in on the couch, reading recipes in the kitchen, or lying flat for playing games on a table.
The company says there will also be optional accessories including a wall mount and Smart Dock.Alcatel OneTouch includes a stylus for jotting notes, and the Xess supports hands-free gesture-based controls, allowing you to use the device in the kitchen without getting the screen wet when you want to answer a Skype call or switch pages in a recipe.
The Xess features a 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS display, a 1.5 GHz MediaTek MT8783T octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 10,000 mAh battery. It ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop software.It also has stereo 3-watt speakers, a 5MP fixed-focus camera, and a microSD card reader. The Xess measures 16.4″ x 10.5″ x 0.37″
