Asus may discontinue ZenWatch product line

Shipments of the ZenWatch family products from the supply chain total 5,000-6,000 units a month on average currently, revealed the sources, noting that Asus outsources the production of the ZenWatch 3 to Pegatron.

Asus ZenWatch 3 comes with a 1.39-inch circular AMOLED display of 400×400 pixel resolution along with curved 2.5D glass coating. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor paired with 512MB of RAM. It offers 4GB of eMMC Flash internal storage and runs Android Wear OS. The ZenWatch 3 is compatible with all smartphones running Android 4.3 and above, as well as iOS devices.

Apple shipped about 3.5 million units of Apple Watch in the first quarter of 2017, according to IDC. Combined shipments of Apple Watch devices reached seven million units in 2016, according to an industry estimate.
