Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Review

Asus launched Zenfone 2 in India earlier this year which was mostly one of the first smartphone with 4GB of RAM. At ZenFestival Asus launched the Zenfone 2 Deluxe which is similar to Zenfone 2 only Difference is Back cover. here is our review of Zenfone 2 Deluxe

Design

Zenfone 2 Deluxe has been one of the best-looking smartphones from Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe comes with a pattern and finishes that feel like a rock face. The patterns are polygons and definitely, the phone looks unique from the rear.It also feels more sturdy in the hand. Zenfone 2 Deluxe feature a 5.5-inch ( 1920 x 1080 pixels) display.On the front there is s a 5MP rear camera along with proximity sensors and earpiece. These is also a LED notification light .Below the Display there are three capacitive touch buttons. The power button, secondary microphone and a 3.5mm audio jack is present on the top.The micro USB port is present at the bottom along with a primary microphone.there is nothing on right and left side of the phone.

Now coming to back the phone has a 13MP rear camera, volume rockers, and a loudspeaker grill at the lower back. there is pretty much the sole difference between the regular Zenfone 2 and the Zenfone Deluxe. Not only does the back cover of the Zenfone Deluxe look good, it feels brilliant in the hand. A diamond cut design at least in marketing speak, it has a criss-cross pattern of raised bumps on the rear panel that feel very unique and comfortable in the hand. The color too is rather gorgeous and shifts between a brilliant turquoise like shade to purple depending on how it catches the light. It measures 52.5 x 77.2 x 10.9mm and weighs 170 grams feels heavy in hand. Zenfone 2 Deluxe comes with a 5.5-inch ( 1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Corning gorilla glass 3 protection that offers wide 178 degree viewing angles with pixel density of 403 PPI Display produces good viewing angles in outdoor Conditions

Performance

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor with PowerVR G6430 GPU coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage out of which 54.19 GB is available for users which is further expandable up to 64GB with MicroSD card. The device runs smooth without any lag while playing high-end games or watching videos.It has PowerVR G6430 GPU for Garphic’s which provide good Gaming Experience we run some benchmark apps On AnTuTu Benchmark app phone scores 42606 points which is close to Note 4.On Quadrant standard phone scores 12033 points.On Geekbench 3 phone scores 756 on single core and 2335 on multi core performance of the device is fast and smooth.

Software

ZenFone 2 Deluxe runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop top of their own user interface Zen UI. It also comes with a theme engine so you can customise the look and feel of Android on the phone.Despite the heavy customisation, the interface feels very very responsive, which is a great thing. You don’t ever get the feeling that the heavily customised interface is bogging down the performance of the phone. There are also option to change the themes.Double tap to wake up.The phone has an Easy Mode, which removes most of the UI elements and makes the phone easier to use with the help of big icons and simple layout. You can choose which apps and widgets to add on the home screen. Asus also lets you select the homes creen options, the menu layout, and gives a number of themes, wallpapers, scroll effects, and icon packs when you long-press the home screen.

The phone comes with Auto switch to Ultra saving mode.there are also Touch gesture know as ZenMotion you can write W when screen is locked to launch browser app and so on. One hand Operation Mode which you can check in below images. There are alot of bloatware. The number of pre-loaded apps is ludicrous. There are more than 10 preloaded app and most of them are useless. Also, Asus has broken down many features that you’d expect in one app into multiple apps which makes things more complicated. there is a app call ZenUI Movie app using which you can create Mini movie from the photos or videos available in the gallery.

Camera

On camera it has 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture Its 5 -element lens camera module comes with blue glass infrared filter include dual-LED Real Tone flash technology for perfect illumination in any lighting conditions. It packs in the Pixel master 2.0 technology for enhanced low light images which essentially boosts up the ISO drastically and 5MP front-facing camera with 85 Degree wide lens.The camera app comes with a number of shooting modes, like Beautification, Auto, Manual, Night, Low Light, and even HDR and Depth of Field. standard automatic mode, a detailed manual mode, HDR, panorama, smart remove, slow motion, GIF animation and time lapse Beautification mode lets you set timer of up to 5 seconds while capturing photos; shots taken in this mode remove all imperfections from your face, and like Beauty modes in other phones, give a glazed look to the photo. However, under low light conditions, photos touched up by Beautification mode will be the best for Facebook, Instagram . The app has a nifty sliding self-timer, which is an extremely intuitive way to take self-timed shots. Volume down key can be used to capture Photos. both camera capture decent images in both day light as well as Low light . can record videos up to 1080p .Check out the camera samples below.

Connectivity & Battery

On connectivity ZenFone 2 Deluxe include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.The Phone supports Dual 4G on both SIM card.There is MicroSD support up to 64GB with also OTG support. Audio on the device is quite clear both while playing music and on phone calls. ZenFone 2 Deluxe packed by 3000mAh battery which is Non- removable able to deliver One day of battery life on Normal usage. while playing games, Using web other social media accounts we got battery backup of 10 hours though there are lot of apps running in the background. The phone also comes with Auto power saving mode. The Overall performance of the device is good and we does not face any lag while using it.

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe is priced at Rs 22,999 available on Flipkart . Device runs with 4GB of RAM provides Excellent performance.
