Asus launched the ZenPad 8.0 and ZenPad 7.0 at the Zenfestival in India. These were announced at the Computex back in June. Today we have Asus Zenpad 7.0 (Z370CG/P01V) which is priced at 11,999 and also comes with Audio Cover starting at Rs. 14,999. It come in Black, White, and Aurora Metallic color. Asus ZenPad 7.0 comes with a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and a pixel density of 215 PPI. ASUS Tru2Life Technology offers vibrant color output, and the viewing angles are good offering up to 178 degrees of viewing angle.The screen also has an anti-fingerprint coating. The display has great viewing angles.
The display is made up of two layers with a one-glass full lamination rather than the conventional six-layer screen. With the Asus TruVivid technology, the conventional air gap has been eliminated and the cover glass and touch panel layers have been combined to offer a higher optical transparency of over 94%, says the company.
Above the Display, there is proximity and ambient light sensors, earpiece for voice calling that includes speaker grill and a 2-megapixel camera front facing camera .Tablet is just 110.9mm wide, it is easy to hold for single-handed usage, but there are huge bezels on the top and bottom of the display, so it is 189mm tall. Below the Display, there is Asus branding and on screen buttons. The tablet has a small chrome rim running on sides of the tablet which gives the tablet a premium look.The power button and the volume rockers are present on the right side, 3.5mm audio jack is present on the top, the micro USB slot and a primary microphone hole are present on the bottom.
There is an 8-megapixel auto focus camera on the back, along with Asus branding in the center. The back cover has tiny patterns, which offers a good grip. There is a small ridge on the right side, which has Intel and ZenPad branding.The back is removable with 3450mAh battery which is nonremovable. There is micro SIM slot and a microSD card slot are present under the back cover and a small connector to connect ZenPad 7.0 Audio Cover CA71 to the back of the tablet, replacing the back cover. overall build quality of the tablet is good. The display is not Full HD but produces great viewing angles and colors in both outdoor and indoor conditions.
Performance
Asus Zenpad 7.0 runs on Intel’s Atom x3-C3230 quad-core 64-bit processor, the tablet handled casual tasks easily and was capable of being a daily device as a media browser and even for productivity on-the-go. We didn’t encounter any major lags, although running some graphics-heavy games tend to show a little lag in animation, although not that bothersome. The device is coupled with 2GB RAM, about 1.94GB of RAM is usable and comes with a 16GB of internal storage out of which about 11.07GB is available for a user which is further expandable using microSD card can also move the apps to the SD card.
we tried some benchmark test on Antutu Benchmark tablet scores 21125 points, On Geekbench 3 tablet scores 350 on single-core and 1030 on multicore and on Quadrant benchmark tablet scores 8386 points. the performance of the device is quite smooth we didn’t notice any heating issues while using the tablet for normal use but it gets warm while playing some high graphics games.
Camera
On camera, It has an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and 2 Megapixel front-facing camera. Daylight shots are decent, HDR shots were good, low light photos were not up to the mark. front camera captures some decent selfies and can be used for video calling. the rear camera can capture 720P videos. Like Asus Smartphone Zenpad camera app also comes with several shooting modes, like Beautification, Auto, Manual, Night, Low Light, and even HDR and Depth of Field. standard automatic mode, a detailed manual mode, HDR, panorama and time lapse. Beautification mode lets you set a timer of up to 5 seconds while capturing photos; shots were taken in this mode remove all imperfections from your face, and like Beauty modes in other phones, give a glazed look to the photo. Zenpad has same Camera UI that Asus smartphones have and plenty of modes and settings.
Software
Asus ZenPad 7.0 runs on Android 5.0.2 with the ZenUI on top it. comes with some customizations, and largely free of bloatware, and comfortable to use, with apps classified and sorted into groups. There are a few apps like Amazon Kindle, CleanMaster, and TripAdvisor among others pre-loaded, but they can be easily uninstalled. The performance of a device is quite smooth we didn’t notice any lag while using apps. Zen UI also includes the same features as Zenfone’s like Double tap to wake up.The phone has an Easy Mode, which removes most of the UI elements and makes the phone easier to use with the help of big icons and simple layout. You can choose which apps and widgets to add on the home screen. Asus also lets you select the home screen options, the menu layout and gives a number of wallpapers, scroll effects, and icon packs when you long-press the home screen.
Connectivity & battery
On connectivity ZenPad 7.0 supports a single SIM card that enables 3G connection. Using it for calls was clear enough . It also has SMS support. It has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It also has USB OTG support. Audio Quality of device is quite loud and clear. Asus ZenPad 7.0 is packed by a 3450mAh battery which is non- removable which is able to deliver battery back up of 5 hours on heavy usesage like playing games watching movie.

Asus Zenpad 7.0 is an average Android tablet with 3G support, voice calling capabilities The build quality and design is good. overall performce of table is decent , camera o is average. battery life of the tablet is not so good as compared to Zenpad 8.0. The device comes with great multimedia experience with Audio cover .It is good deal for some one looking for 3G support, voice calling , Multimedia tablet.
