Budget 4G smartphone Coolpad Dazen 1 Review

Coolpad the chinese Smartphone maker launched Coolpad Dazen 1 in india Priced at Rs 6,999 which gives competition to other smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Yu Yuphoria. Dazen 1 is the affordable smartphone from Coolpad which gives a good performance here is our full review of Dazen 1.

Design

On Design Dazen 1 comes with full plastic body same as any other entry level smartphone available in the market.The material used in the device is of good quality.It measures 141 x 71.5 x 9.3mm  and the device weights 155 g.The device can be used in single hand also. On top, there is 3.5mm headphones jack.Coming to the front there is 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which comes to 293 pixels per inch PPI, front facing camera, receiver, and Proximity sensor. The volume rocker key is located on the left side and on the Right side there is power On/Lock button.Both the buttons are of plastic but give good response.On the bottom, there is Micro-USB/ data transfer port. On the back panel, there is an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, Dazen banding below the camera below that there is a peaker and Coolpad logo.

Below the Display there are 3 capacitive buttons Home, Menu,back with backlit LED which means it can easily use in a place where there is low light. The display gives good viewing angles, we also checked the display in  sunlight which produces clear view and good colors. Build Quality of the phone is quite good can be used in one hand.

Performance

Coming to Performance of the device it is powered by 64 bit  Qualcomm Snapdragon 410
(MSM8916) clocked at 1.2Ghz which gives decent performance for gaming and graphics there is Adreno 306 GPU clocked at 400MHz. The device is Coupled with 2GB of RAM which helps in Multi tasking .On storage it comes with 8GB of internal storage out of which 4 GB is available for User which can be further expandable up to 32GB Via microSD card .Dazen 1 doesn’t comes with OTG support this could be one of drawback. It comes with Facebook, Whatsapp, Wechat, Snapdeal, WPS offie pre-loaded with the devices. We played some Games on the device which does not lag while playing or we did not face any heating issue overall  performance of the device was good  also tried some high end games sometimes it lags But on normal games it works smooth. Sound Quality of Dazen 1 is loud and clear we also tested using headphone the sound is good .In call sound is also good and audible even in crowd. Speakers of the smartphone  offer good sound quality. We run some benchmark apps AnTuTu benchmark scored 20,390.

Camera

Coolpad Dazen 1 comes with 8-Mega Pixel rear facing camera with LED flash ,f/2.2 aperture which comes with some in build Modes such as HDR,Night Shot,Beatuy,Capture Simle etc which produces decent pictures.It also comes with PRO mode which  allow manual camera setting. On front it comes with 5-Mega pixel front facing camera with Beatuy Mode it clicks selfies better than Normal picture and can also record videos up to 720P . Overall the picture clicked from both the camera gives good image Quality in both day light and  low light condition.Check out the photos captured.

Software

It runs on Android 4.4.4  Kitkat with Cool UI on top of it. Cool UI is the company’s own User interface which is similar to Xiaomis MIUI. It may get Lollipop Update in future. Now talking about Cool UI the UI gives good performance it does not lag in between the use. It comes with some pre-installed apps which take about half of storage. There is also support for Multi Taskingwake up gesture, such as double tap wake up so when the device is locked double tap on lock screen the device locks open and much more gesture.there are some minor issue with some apps that could be fixed with software Update.the device did not heat up like Redmi 2 or Yuphoria while playing games or using it for a long time.
