LG-made Nexus 5 (2015) is said to feature a 5.2-inch 1080p display, fingerprint scanner, and a 3D assembly camera module. is powered by a 1.44GHz Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Furthermore, it is said to run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. While there is no clear sign that this is the Nexus 5 (2015), this is the second time in a week that the LG smartphone has cropped up on a benchmark website. Earlier this week, the Nexus 5 (2015) scored 85,530 on AnTuTu benchmarks, which is the highest any smartphone has scored so far.
Huawei-made Nexus 5 (2015) is rumored to feature a 5.7-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display, Snapdragon 820 chipset, metal body, and a fingerprint scanner. Both the smartphones are expected to launch sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.
LG G4 Note
Rumour has it LG has an even bigger and better flagship than the G4 planned for 2015. The LG G4 Note, if it materialises, will be a metal-chassis phablet with a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip and a massive 4GB of RAM.
Samsung Note 5
Galaxy Note 5, is expected to release somewhere around August or September, with top-of-the-end hardware and all the latest features that we’ve come to expect with all iterations of the Galaxy Note line. While initial rumors pegged the launch date for September at the annual IFA conference held in Berlin, recent rumors suggest that the phone will see the light of day earlier than expected, debuting on August 12 and then hitting the shelves on August 21.
Another rumor suggests that the phone will carry USB Type-C connectivity, making it the first phone to feature the new standards. Following the immense success of the Galaxy S6 Edge, it’s expected that the Note 5 will also launch alongside a dual-edge variant. Other rumors suggest that the phone will ship with a super-AMOLED 5.7- or 5.9-inch display, with 2K (2560 x 1440) or 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution. Powering the device will either be a homegrown Exynos 7422 processor with power efficiency improvements, or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 815 chipset with 4GB RAM. As for the camera specs, the main camera is expected to have a 16-megapixel module, along with the ability to shoot 4K video as OIS. There have been a couple of reports suggesting that the Galaxy Note 5 will ship with Android M, but it’s highly unlikely.
iPhone6s/iPhone7
The phones will be called the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, or iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and it’s expected that the phones will feature a slew of notable improvements over their predecessors. The 2014 refresh already features a major design overhaul of the iPhone lineup, so this year’s reveals will most likely focus on internal hardware and software improvements.
After sticking with the 8-megapixel shooter for over two years, it’s expected that Apply will finally up the megapixel count on the iPhones to a 12-megapixel module, to better compete with the other market offerings. The higher-resolution shooter will also be capable of 4K video recording, which would be a significant upgrade from the current iPhone’s 1080p limit.This next generation of phones is also expected to feature Apple’s new Force Touch input technology, which would add a whole new interface method to the devices. The tech allows for the phone to differentiate between a tap and a hard press, and then react accordingly. We’ve already seen Apple use the tech on its new MacBooks and the Apple Watch. It’s only logical for Apple to utilize the technology on its iPhone lineup and capitalize off of it.
Under the hood is where most of the changes are expected. The new phone is expected to tout the new 14-nm Apple A9 chipset, coupled with 2GB of RAM. While 4GB of RAM has now become the norm in flagship Android phones, the iPhone’s 2GB is expected to be sufficient to match the performance of its Android counterparts, due to Apple’s superior memory management technology and software optimization.
Other rumors suggest that the 2015 iPhone will feature faster LTE, NFC capabilities, a more durable build attributable to the 7000 aluminum alloy material, along with a new Rose Gold color option. Finally, the phone may rock wireless charging capabilities, along with battery life improvements. Like the previous models, the phone should be offered in 16GB/64GB/128GB storage options.As for the release date, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are expected to be announced somewhere in September, following Apple’s annual refresh schedule. Assuming that the company follows the same launch schedule as with the previous devices, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus should officially be announced on September 8, reaching the shelves by September 18.
