Lenovo has finally started rolling out Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for A6000 Plus smartphone in India earlier this week. The A6000 Plus, which is an upgraded version of the A6000 was launched back in April running Android 4.4 (Kitkat). Lenovo A6000 that was launched back in January is yet to get the Lollipop update. According Lenovo’s official Android Upgrade Matrix, the A6000 should also get the update by this month.
The Android Lollipop update brings Material Design with bold, colorful, and responsive UI design, better notifications, battery saver feature, better security including Android Smart Lock, New Quick Settings, Improved network hand offs, flexible sharing, faster, smoother and more powerful experience with ART, new languages and more.
The Android Lollipop update for the A6000 Plus is available OTA (over-the-air) and is 1.09GB in size. Even though the update doesn’t erase any user data, Lenovo asks users to backup important data in case the update fails.
Lenovo A6000 plus features 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display and a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor under the hood with Adreno 306GPU coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expandable up to 32GB via MiCroSD card.The smartphone also features an 8-megapixel Autofocus rear camera with LED Flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. A6000 comes with Dolby Digital Plus audio technology
Connectivity options include, dual-SIM card slots, LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and on the software it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat top of Vibe 2.0 UI which is upgrdable to Android Lollipop.
