Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro (ZD552KL) Review

Asus has introduced Zenfone 4 selfies in India which includes Zenfone 4 Selfie, Zenfone 4 Selfie with Dual Front camera and ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro. We have ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro which is priced at Rs 23,999. Is it worth the price tag lets find out in our review.

Box content includes Phone, charger, data cable, silicone case, SIM ejector tool, headset, and a quick start guide. Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro comes with a metal body. On the front, there is a 5.5-inch Display, Dual Front facing camera with LED Flash, notification LED, earpiece and sensors, below the display there are three touch capacitive buttons. On the right, there is the volume rocker and Power button.

SIM card slot is present on left side.On the Bottom, there is a speaker grill, MicroUSB port, and 3.5mm audio jack. On The Rear, there is a 16MP Rear camera with LED Flash and Asus branding. Antenna cutout on top and bottom as seen in images below. The back panel is slightly curved which gives a good grip in hand. The Phone measures 154.02 x 74.83 x 6.85mm and weighs just 147g. The phone is light and not as slippery as some other metal phones available in the market.

 

Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro features a 5.5-inch full-HD AMOLED display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection which produces Good color, Deep black we didn’t have any issue using this phone even in bright sunlight, viewing angles are good.

Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is powered by  2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage out of which around 52GB is available for the user which is further expandable up to 2TB.In terms of performance, there was no issue almost all games and Apps works fine while playing higher resolution games for longer time device gets warm its normal considering metal back. On AnTuTu Phone scores 65,207 points in AnTuTu, 862 on Single core and 4029 on multi-core score on Geekbench 4.

 

Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro comes with a 16MP rear camera with Sony IMX315 sensor and a 24MP (12x 2MP  DuoPixel ) front camera with soft LED Flash, Sony IMX362 sensor, f/1.8 aperture and 120-degree secondary wide-angle lens camera. Asus uses single 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor there is Duo Pixel option in setting which let you shoot images in 24MP. When you click selfies with the Single camera it is with 12MP when u select DuoPixel it is 24MP. The second front camera comes with a 120-degree field of view for group selfies.Selfies captured with front camera is good in both daylight and lowlight. DuoPixel modes need improvement. the 16-megapixel rear camera also produces decent images. Camera modes include  Pro, Super Resolution, Panorama, slow motion, timelapse.Both front and rear camera support videos up to 4K.

 

Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro runs on  Android 7.1.1 Nougat based on ZenUI 4.0. With ZenUI 4.0 Asus has reduced pre-installed Apps and comes with new features like Twin Apps, Page maker,  Game Genie. which basically clones supported apps in order to let you use multiple accounts at the same time. Page Marker adds a floating marker in Chrome, which lets you save Web pages for reading later and offers a ‘reader mode’ for articles There is also a Special mode which includes Easy mode and Kids mode.

There is also a split-screen mode which lets you use two apps at the same time.Some of preloaded Apps include Themes app and Mobile Manager, which lets you manage junk files, data usage, etc. Selfie Master is a launcher which lets you jump to the front camera for stills or video, create a collage or slideshow, or enter the BeautyLive mode, which was the highlight feature of the ZenFone Live.Asus will be rolling out Android Oreo Update to Zenfone 4 Series Soon. Overall Software experience was good. Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro comes with fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button which works fast and responsive there was no issue Other than unlocking the phone, you can use it to answer incoming calls, unlock Apps.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS / GLONASS no support for 5GHZ Wi-Fi band and NFC. Reliance Jio VoLTE works fine there was no issue with Celluar calls.  It comes with ‘Hi-Res Audio’ certified to support 192kHz/24-bit audio files. there is also AudioWizard software, which adds enhancements like DTS Headphone: X and virtual surround sound for headphones.

Audio quality via 3.5mm audio jack and Speaker is loud and clear. Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is Packed with a 3000mAh battery there is no support for Fast charge it takes around 2 hours to charge from 0-100%. It is able to deliver a full day of battery life with Dual SIM, 4G, Listening music, watching a video.If you are sort of average user it can easily last for more than 1 day.
