Cortana for Windows 10 launched in India With Indian Voice & Accent support

Microsoft has started rolling out its first major updates to Windows 10 OS for PCs and tablets. The latest Windows 10 update bring Cortana, the digital assistant to India, which currently will be available in English in India. To make it more consumer friendly, Cortana comes with Indian voice and accent.

Besides Indian voice and accent, Cortana also recognises Indian legend like Sachin Tendulkar, Indian festivals like Diwali. When Cortana is asked about, ”What do you think about Sachin? It replies, ”the God of Cricket, bowls me over”. Similarly, when asked about Diwali, Cortana replies, ”in the courtyard of AI imagination, I would light up a thousand diyas”. Cortana also recognises Indian food like Golgappa and Indian mangoes.

Apart from above features, Cortana will enable you to find out movies playing in theaters nearby and book tickets using BookMyShow. It will help you in getting updates on upcoming meetings as well as glance over other participants and meeting attachments to even reschedule meeting as needed. With Cortana, you can get daily horoscope predictions and can also take selfies with a simple voice command.


Cortana was initially introduced for phones running on Windows 8.1, but Microsoft integrated it with Windows 10. Cortana is being made available in Japan, Australia, and Canada and India (in English) with features and experiences customized for each market.
