After launching budget phones Realme launched Realme X Smartphone in the Mid-range price segment. Realme X comes with Pop up selfie camera an in-display Fingerprint Scanner. We have been using the 4GB RAM model. Is Realme X worth buying Let’s find out in our review.
Realme X Review

Realme X has a 6.53-inch FullView Display, SIM Card Slot, Power button on right, USB Type C, 3.5mm audio jack, speaker on Bottom, Volume rockers on Left, Pop-up selfie camera on top which has Sapphire glass protection. On Rear it has a Dual Rear Camera, Realme branding, the back panel is slightly curved which gives a good grip. It has an S patterns design with gradient finish, Realme X build is made up of just like any other Realme available in the market. Cant use always in a single hand, The phone weighs 191g. back panel attracts fingerprints and scratches easily. The case provided in the box is a hard case which makes the phone heavier. The case also gets scratches even placed on the table. Build quality could have been better considering price range.

On Display Realme X comes with a 6.53-inch (2340  × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ AMOLED display with 100% NTSC Color Gamut, 91.2% screen-to-body ratio It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, Viewing angles, Colors are good, Display bright in outdoor conditions. There is support for Always-on Display which can be turned on from Display settings.


Reasons to Buy & Not to Buy Realme X



Realme X is powered by 2.2 GHz  Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 10 nm processor with Adreno 616. It comes with 4/8GB (LPPDDR4x) RAM and 128GB internal storage. The performance is fast and smooth while playing games or during normal use. The device does not get heat up but gets warm after playing high-end games like PUBG, Fortnite for around half an hour. The phone scores 155770 points on AnTuTu benchmark. RAM management on 4GB RAM is decent it can be improved with software updates.

Realme X runs on Android Pie with ColorOS 6. ColorOS 6 has support for App Lock, Themes, App Lock, Gestures, Game Space, and Bike Mode It comes with Preloaded Apps like  NewsPoint, App Market, Sharechat, UC browser which can be uninstalled Some apps auto stop in between, Phone runs on June Security Patch, Realme X will be getting Android 10 Update with their Realme OS which is set to release later this year.

On-Camera, it has a  48MP rear camera with 1/2.0″ Sony IMX586 sensor, f/1.7 aperture, 6P lens, LED flash, 5MP secondary rear camera and 16MP front-facing camera with Sony IMX471 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, selfie cam takes only 0.74s to pop up for over 200,000 times. Rear Camera can record 4K Videos whereas 1080p on the front camera.  Camera App includes HDR, Night Scape, Pano, Expert, Time Lapse, Ultra 48MP mode, Slow-Mo. The phone captures good images in Daylight and Low light conditions, Front camera captures good selfies, and There is on Screen flash for low light selfies. Portrait mode is average, edge detection needs improvement, Video recording at 4K is decent, EIS Support at 1080p. 960fps, 240fps Slow-Mo Support. 960fps Slow-Mo looks gimmick, It has support for GCAM. Realme X Review

Realme X comes with In-Display Fingerprint Scanner which works fast. It can be also used to unlock Apps. There is also support for Face Unlock, It’s better to use In-Display Fingerprint Scanner instead on Face Unlock, As When Screen is on popup camera open’s up n find a face to unlock. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS. It lacks Hybrid or dedicated MicroSD card slot which we have seen in other Realme phones, Support for Dolby Atmos, Audio output from the speaker is loud and clear, Call Quality is also good. It does not come with Notifications light

 


Realme X is packed by a  3765mAh Battery. On paper, it looks like less battery in our test we got more than 8 hours of battery with Gaming, Video playback, Camera use, with Data & wifi used. In normal use, the Realme X battery can give one day of battery life. It has support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging (5V 4A Charger) It takes less than 85 Min to charge the device from 1-100%.

Realme X comes in Polar White and Space Blue. color Priced at 16,999 for 4GB RAM and Rs 19,999 for 8+128GB.4GB RAM is value for money option that offers Good Display, performance, and Battery Life, Rs 3000 more just for 4GB RAM is slightly overpriced with a Plastic build, No Triple Camera.
