Both phones have plastic build, fingerprint scanner on the rear. Realme 5i comes with 6.5-inch HD+ Display whereas Redmi 8 has 6.26-inch HD+ Display, Snapdragon 665 on Realme 5i compared to Snapdragon 439 on Redmi 8. Both phones have an 8MP front-facing camera, Support for Dual 4G VOLTE, a Dedicated MicroSD card, 5000mAh Battery.

The Realme 5i comes in Blue and Green and is priced at Rs 8999, while the Redmi 8 is priced at Rs 7999. The Redmi 8 offers Fast Charging support with Type C, whereas the Realme 5i has a better processor and quad Rear Cameras.
